Monday Meals

I've found it's much easier to stay on budget when I have a PLAN for the week of what's for dinner. It makes things much less stressful when I come home- and if I have a plan I'm much less likely to take the easy way out and drive through for fast food on the way home. Here's my plan for this week...

Monday: Nachos w/ Turkey Chili. Dessert: Fruit Smoothies
  • Turkey Chili (Hormel) Free with coupon @ HT this week
  • Yoplait Yo Plus for smoothies Free with coupon @ HT this week
  • Found ripe bananas .25/lb a few weeks ago- froze them in serving size for smoothies
Tuesday: Chicken Noodle Soup & Ham Sandwiches
  • Both from the freezer- leftovers from about a month ago
Wednesday: Burgers/ Mac & Cheese / Spinach (Hopefully by my husband!)
  • Ground Beef on sale 1.49/lb a few weeks back at HT
  • Mac & Cheese leftovers from the freezer
  • Frozen Spinach on sale at Target a few weeks ago
Thursday:  Chinese @ Home- Tofu, veggies, brown rice, egg rolls
  • Tofu 2.19 @ HT this week, 1.50/2 printable (doubles) = .69 Tofu!
  • Brown Rice- Free this week w/ HT Super Doubles
  • Egg Rolls- .50/each HT sale a while back
Friday: Leftovers or Out to Eat

Saturday: Leftovers or Out to Eat

Sunday: Pasta w/ Vodka Sauce (double batch to freeze)

  1. My husband does our burgers for us, too. I need to work on menus--I go by hunger desires. Okay with a stockpile, but would do better with a menu.

  2. Cheryl, I'm the other way around! I've got the menu down- but there are a number of items I don't have a real stockpile for. There's always room for improvement :)
